I am a PhD student at the University of Helsinki, Finland. My research focuses on melt evolution of massif-type anorthosites and related rocks. There are two possible advocates for the sources of the anorthosite parental melts: mantle and lower crust. These possibilities are difficult to study because of the complex and polybaric crystallization histories of the magmas. In my research, I use MCS to study the origin of the anorthosite parental magmas by assimilating lower crust in mantle-derived melts. In addition, I model the subsequent evolution of the magmas by fractional crystallization at different pressures. I compare the model results to proposed parental and residual melt and cumulate compositions of the anorthosites and related rocks. When I´m not working, I play ice hockey and like to enjoy the outdoors by hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding.
