I am an undergraduate (senior standing) student at Central Washington University. My research is on the 1915 Lassen Peak, California eruption. It is hypothesized that the 1915 Lassen eruption is a magma mixing event with a dacitic host magma chamber and intruding basaltic andesite melt. I use the Magma Chamber Simulator to quantify the magma mixing event of the 1915 Lassen eruption. I am mixing different ratios of the host dacite magma and the best estimated basaltic andesite in order to reproduce the 4 products and their mineral chemistry and relative abundances.
